This little carte de visite image comes with no information at all, though it came in a bunch that were otherwise all from England, so maybe this one was from England, too. The combination of two- and three-dimensional scenery is fun. As always, I’m intrigued when a big portion of a studio photo is left blank, as is the whole right side of this image. I also noticed that the whole image seems to be tilted slightly, and I was amused to imagine that all the furniture had weighted it to the left. I have to point out his watch chain, since the links are much larger than I’m used to seeing. And I wonder what the thing is on the floor behind the chair. It looks like it might be the base of a posing stand, though it would seem like an unnecessary tool here.
