Shriners in Honolulu

Last week, my friend Brad gave me the gift of a vintage photo album that was put together as a souvenir of a Shriner’s convention in Honolulu, something called the “Red Gavel Club”, dated May 17, 1968. Here are four samples of the pictures in it, nearly all of which are 3.5 x 5-inch photos of Shriners and their wives, all mounted onto 5×7 pages in a leatherette album, carefully hand-lettered with everybody’s names and the Temples from which they hailed (various places in California). It’s a cheerful, colorful collection that makes me smile.
