Photographer is M. Jaffé of Vienna. Otherwise undated and unidentified.
Comments:
Splendid facial hair. When I look at an old photo of an old person, I imagine that his life stretches back into a time before photography, and I wonder what such a time was like. With a name like Jaffé, I wonder if the photographer was Jewish, and by extension if the sitter was, too. What was life like for them in Vienna at that time, and what did their lives become (assuming they lived long enough)?
