Alice and Emma from Clinton, Missouri
What it is:
Photo (approx. 2.75 x 2.75 inches) mounted on a cardboard frame/backing (approx. 3.75 x 3.75 inches).
What I know about it:
Photographer is W. P. Hubbell of Clinton, MO. Alice + Emma is written on the back in pen.
Comments:
The photo itself is fairly average, but what I find so unusual is the mounting, the way it is positioned to be viewed like a diamond, rather than a flat square. Also interesting is the fact that this is one of two identical copies in my collection, same photo, same mounting, same handwritten identification on the back, etc. While I purchased them from the same source, I wonder if they have always been together, or if they went on separate journeys that nevertheless ended up at the same place.
