Or maybe it’s a lake, I’m not sure. Anyway, not to brag, but San Francisco has been having beautiful summery weather again this weekend, sunny with temperatures in the 80s. It’s October, so it’s our “Indian summer” (if one can still use that term), though here in San Francisco we sometimes refer to it as “earthquake weather”. That’s a silly concept, of course, but nevertheless we’ve been having earthquakes this weekend. Indeed, October is something of a disaster month around here, with the big 1989 quake happening in mid-October, and this weekend being the 20th anniversary of the Oakland Hills fire (25 dead, over 3000 homes burned). So sometimes people around here view the unseasonably hot weather of October with a bit of superstitious trepidation. But I’m determined to enjoy it, and in honor of all that is lovely about a sunny day, I’m posting this picture.
” . . . in honor of all that is lovely about a sunny day.” Love that line and the photo.
Thank you! And thanks for visiting my blog.
I love this photo, in the casual dress. They were dressed for what they were doing, and not for a formal portrait. Enjoy the weather!
Thanks, Katie!
That looks like a fun picnic to attend! Nice shady spot, with the sound of the water …
I agree, it looks very pleasant.
