At least I assume they’re tossing a ball around. It’s hard to be sure. Whatever they’re doing, they seem to be having a good time.

They are tossing an imaginary panini, which was a popular play time activity for women in about 1930 in the tiny and unknown village of Bergastini close to the Italian Alps.
Ah, yes, stupid of me to not recognize that. I think it’s time for a panini-tossing revival. 🙂
Hard to imagine wearing heels in that kind of terrain.
I know what you mean. They don’t seem to be exerting themselves terribly hard, but still.
I cannot imagine tossing a ball or “playing” in a dress, leave alone heels. Times have changed!
Yes, they have. Those ladies were probably quite used to wearing dresses and heels to an extent that would seem surprising today.
