Tintype of a seated woman

Tintypes are starting to grow on me. I think I still prefer photos on paper over photos on metal, but I seem to be getting over that. (I have a few other things, too, like ambrotypes, which are basically photos on glass, but I haven’t figured out how to make those look good in a scan.) So here we have another tintype that is rather beat-up and corroded, and a bit dark, which I find to be the case with the ones I have. It requires us to really concentrate to make out the image. But when we bother, this long-ago woman emerges before us, and we are rewarded for the effort.
