Comments:
I wonder what program they could be watching. Their reactions range from delight to consternation to disinterest. While this is undated, I suspect a television may have still been something of a novelty to these people.
I just saw a movie at the Noir City fest (“Try and Get Me,” 1951) that had a scene of people gathered at a neighbor’s house to watch tv–I had thought the scene seemed very realistic, but these people seem less transfixed than the actors. Maybe the director was trying to make some kind of anti-tv point.
Well, maybe this photo was snapped during a commercial or something.
The expression on the woman’s face is quite funny. And the image even has bonus photographs on the walls!
Ha! Yes, like those old paintings of artist’s studios with paintings in them. 🙂
