What it is:
Photo measuring 2.75 x 3.5 inches.
What I know about it:
Written on the back is Seattle – About 3/15/46
Comments:
I wonder about the note on the back. Did one of the three people pictured write it? (I’m guessing it’s a woman’s handwriting, but I’ve been fooled before.) Is this somebody who needs to carefully notate everything, or was Seattle something unusual? Perhaps they were visiting, or on vacation? Perhaps the note was written years later after they had moved away? By the way, I looked it up, if the date is correct, that would be a Friday.
Hey, just wanted to stop by and let you know that I have nominated you for a Leibster Award. Check out today’s post on my blog. I love your blog!
Thank you, Mrs. P! I’ve been so crazy-busy lately, basically working two jobs, I barely have the time to keep up with my own blog, let alone everyone else’s. But I really appreciate the recognition, and your comments made me very happy.
I’ll tell you a secret…I never want my blog to get so big that I can’t get too it. Blogging is supposed to be fun. I like the simplicity of yours. Maybe some more people might stop in to look. Just keep doin’ what your doin’. 🙂 I’m like you, sometimes my schedule is more free and other times, I’m double booked. Are we working on another production, I hope? 😉
Thanks. By keeping it simple I hope to let people think their own thoughts about the images, and to have time to browse more. Plus, the simplicity is what lets me do it daily even when I’m busy. And yes, your hope is correct. 🙂
There you go getting me so interested in the date and who wrote it and why, I almost forgot about the picture. They look like they are having a good time…at least the ladies are all smiles. I’m guessing, a special occasion. Check out the coat on the right…WOW!
I was wondering if it might be a special occasion, like they got dressed up and went into the big city for somebody’s birthday or something.
The two ladies look like sisters – the quirk of their lips, the shape of their noses – tho it’s possible the one on the left is the mother; her grey hair makes her look older. I wish I could read the lettering on the stores behind them. And funny how they were caught in mid-stride…. makes you wonder also about the photographer.
I have a number of pictures of people on city streets caught mid-stride. I wonder if people frequently “posed” that way.
I suppose it’s possible. Roving photographer, perhaps? 🙂
Or else it was a popular pose, so the fourth member of their party ran ahead and snapped a picture of them walking. Who knows?
