Comments:
These appear to be men at work, though I’m not sure what they do for a living. The man on the right seems to have some sort of wrench in his hand. Combined with the big wheel he’s leaning on, should we guess that he is a wheelwright, or perhaps somebody who works on carriages and other vehicles? Or is the big wheel merely ornamental? I can’t tell what tool the guy in the middle is holding. I initially thought they were standing in front of a half-closed door, but after enlarging it, I now think they are standing at an open garage in front of some large vehicle that I don’t recognize. There appears to be a seat above the shorter man’s head. Wherever they are, that’s a pretty window. And the bit of the sign I can read says “Always on hand”, which is comforting.
The men look to be wheelwrights and the subject behind them looks to be a commercial wagon (ice, milk,?)
Yes, I think those are probably good guesses.
