Man and two girls on downed trees

What it is:
Real photo post card measuring 3.5 x 5.5 inches.
What I know about it:
Photo is dated 1910. The paper manufacturer’s markings on the back (Cyko) place it in the range of 1906-1915, which matches the handwritten date. The sitters are identified as Hazel [something] a friend, Dad B, and Alice Brown.
Comments:
This is the third of three photos I bought this weekend. I was mostly attracted to the setting, which is unusually elaborate for what I take to be a studio portrait. It’s clever the way this seeming jumble of felled trees has three convenient places for people to sit and pose. While I’m not crazy about writing on the fronts of photos, it’s nice that it’s identified at all. I’m guessing that the initial “B” after “Dad” means he is the father of Alice Brown, but I don’t know. It’s also nice that Hazel was identified as a friend, since I would have assumed she was Alice’s sister. I’m having trouble deciphering Hazel’s last name, though. Rogay or something like that?
A wonderful quirky image, Matt. No idea about the name. Handwriting is something I really struggle with deciphering, yet it can be so illuminating.
Thanks. I agree, it can be challenging. Though sometimes, once you’ve figured out what the handwriting says, it seems so obvious.
