This is another small photo that definitely improves for me when I enlarge it. There’s something about the lighting and the scenery that almost makes it look like a photo taken on a movie set. (I tried to read the license plate to get a sense of the location, but was unable.) With the pose, including the hand on the neck, the women look very affectionate (friends? sisters? lovers?), but just when I start to wonder how private this moment is, I notice a man or boy sitting in the car. And, of course, I remember that there’s a fourth person taking the photo.
Your maternal grandparents always drove Hudsons. I remember only Hudson cars in the family until the late 50s. Model year 1957 was the last year they were manufactured, but ours were older models.
They look like sturdy, dependable cars, and I guess they were if they earned such loyalty.
