Man and woman, seated on the grass

Despite the big crease down the middle of this photo, I love it and wanted to share it. These two, whoever they are, wherever they are, might not have especially liked this photo for the way that unsparing light makes them look. Did the photographer ask them to turn towards the sun, thinking it would make for a better photo? But I love the way their handsomeness shines through despite the rawness of the image. And I love the way they each have a slight, enigmatic smile. By the way, I noticed that they fabric of the woman’s collar matches her skirt, and I wonder what those colors are.

  1. I’d love to know who they were! Their proximity to the camera and the spontaneous nature of the image make it seem like we should be able to ask them.

    • It does seem like that. Not only do I wonder what relationship they had to each other, I wonder what relationship, if any, they had to the photographer.

  2. He looks professorial to me. A college campus?
