Woman in a lace jacket

I’m not sure if the lace part of her outfit would be called a jacket, but whatever it’s called, it’s quite pretty. This cabinet card photo was taken by Joseph W. Gehrig of Chicago. The woman is unidentified, but Gehrig apparently had a successful career catering to performing artists and socialites. For example, here is a photo of Edith Kingdon, who was both an actress and a socialite at various times in her life. Note it’s the same chair! I wondered if the casually elegant pose above, with the arm up on the back of the chair, was intended to show off the lace a bit, and then I found this photo here by Gehrig, in which the man’s pose seems partly designed to show off the lining of his coat. Looks like Gehrig knew what he was doing.
