Man from Hartford, CT

What it is:

Photo (4 x 5.75 inches) mounted on cardboard backing/frame (5.25 x 7.5 inches).

 

What I know about it:

Photographer is Randall of Hartford, Connecticut.  Otherwise undated and unidentified.

 

Comments:

I have a lot of this sort of photo, vintage studio portraits of individual people, mostly without any information about the person shown.  I know nothing about this man except that he was alive about a hundred years ago and that he once had his photo taken in Hartford, Connecticut.    Photos like this can be a real litmus test for my mood that day, since some days I think he looks serene, and other days he looks full of prissy attitude.   In any case, I always find it fascinating to stare across time into a face from out of the past.
