A comment after my previous post of a boy’s First Communion asked about pictures of girls having their First Communions, too. As a follow-up to that comment, here is one. Enjoy! I’m not sure how well it will show up in the post, but I think the portrait she is holding is the Virgin Mary. And I think the little foot rest is adorable.

My guess is that she is holding a prayer book with the Virgin Mary on the cover or a prayer card with a picture of Mary in front of a prayerbook. Note that she also has a rosary in her hand. A candle decorated with flowers and a bow sits on the bench beside her. This is a wonderful picture.
Yes, when I looked at it enlarged it looked like a little prayer book. I wasn’t sure how easy it would be to see in the finished post. I’m glad you like the picture!
What a beautiful photo! It’s nice to be able to compare it with the photo of the boy.
