Three guys from Flin Flon, Manitoba

What it is:

Photo (5 x 7 inches) mounted into a cardboard matte frame (a bit less than 7 x 10 inches).

What I know about it:

Photographer is Flin Flon Studio.  Otherwise undated and unidentified.

Comments:

Is it safe to assume that Flin Flon Studio is (was) located in Flin Flon, Manitoba?  I’m stumped for where else it might be, so I’m going to throw caution to the wind and go for it.  (Actually, I say Manitoba, but even though it is a quaint little mining town, it apparently sprawls slightly across the border into Saskatchewan, too.)  I have no idea how these three are connected.  There could be a bit of a family resemblance between the kid and the guy on the left, but the guy on the right seems more random, particularly given his military outfit.  (No, I haven’t figured out from which branch of the military he hails.  Shall we at least assume that it’s Canadian?)  And I must say, the guy on the left has donned quite a snazzy jacket for the occasion.   They make Flin Flon look like a livelier place than I would have guessed.

  1. I like the Deco, television-like frame! I think you’re right about the uniform being Canadian. I found images of Canadian Army uniforms of WWII. They look very similar to what the gentleman in the photo is wearing.
