Woman with interesting purse
What it is:
Real Photo Post Card measuring a bit less than 3.5 x 5.5 inches.
What I know about it:
Nothing! Undated and unidentified. (I can’t find any of the distinctive marks or codes that sometimes identify the post card paper’s manufacturer and can sometimes help you date the photo.)
Comments:
I’m guessing 1920s. That’s my guess based on the clothes and purse, but I’ve been wrong before. I’m sure there’s a name for that type of bag/purse, but I’m too tired to look it up right now beyond a quick unsuccessful internet search. I think that as interesting as the purse itself is the fact that she’s decided to pose with it. Also, it seems she’s wearing a wristwatch, which I understand became popular in the 1920s.
I would agree that it’s early 1920’s. The story I’ve heard about wristwatches is that soldiers in WWI made them popular.
That makes total sense.
