What it is:
Oval photo (3.5 x 5 inches) mounted on a cardboard frame/backing (6 x 8.5 inches).
What I know about it:
Photographer is Kuhn of Stanberry, Missouri. She is of the same Guenther clan as the man pictured here, though I don’t know their exact relationship. Handwritten on the back is Grandma Guenther / Mary Elizabeth Buech-Guenther / Mary Elizabeth Büch-Günther / This is the grandmother who made the beautiful flowers of Celestyne’s hair when it was cut at the age of three and the one who made the large and lovely picture with the flowers and yellow bird of yarn. She is also the one who gave the gold pin – bar shaped – to Celestyne and the leather hanging with verse. I loved you very much Grandma.
Comments:
There really isn’t much I can add to what is already written on the back.
The hair-art pieces sound like something that would be featured on Antiques Roadshow!
Yes, I’d be curious to see those.
