Happy New Year!

What it is:

Photo (approx. 4.25 x 7.5 inches) mounted on cardboard backing (slightly less than 7 x 10 inches).  (Most of the cardboard has been cropped out of this scan.)

What I know about it:

This is a commercially produced photo from the photographer George Fiske, who made a living with photos of Yosemite, such as this photo of Half Dome, decades before Ansel Adams.  This copy is undated, but UC Berkeley’s Bancroft Library dates its copy to the 1880s.
