Cup o’ joe
What it is:
Photo measuring 2 x 2.75 inches. Traces of black paper on the back from having been mounted in an old photo album.
What I know about it:
The number 24 is written in the lower right corner. Otherwise no identifying marks or writing.
Comments:
Maybe it’s not coffee, but it looks like a coffee mug. If not, we’ll just pretend his name is Joe. 🙂 I don’t know what the number 24 means. Is that the year? This photo’s number in a series? Something else? Meanwhile, those eyes can keep you transfixed. Funny how hard it is to read the meaning in the eyes when you can’t see the rest of the face.
His hat resembles the ones worn by rangers in the National Park Service. Is it possible that there’s an NPS logo on the cup? I’m guessing the setting might be the deep south, although there’s no way to be sure.
Sorry, I can’t read the logo, but that’s a definite possibility about the hat. Part of me is sorry that he isn’t wearing more of clothing to help identify the uniform, and part of me isn’t 😉
Is he wearing dog tags? Or just some kind of medallion?
I can’t quite tell. I assumed dog tags, but they seem rounder than I would have expected. Maybe such things changed over time? Or maybe this is not the US? If Paul is right about him maybe being a park ranger, then it would more likely be a medallion, I’d guess. But I really don’t know.
Hehe. Well, I’m not really looking at his face, but he’s got nice eyes!
😉
