Here’s a dirty, mangled photo that has obviously seen better days. But I love these warm, smiling faces, and this very rustic genre is unusual in my collection, so I thought I’d share it. This man on the left with his wonderful old pipe, this woman on the right with her sewing or mending, this woman in the middle with forearms worthy of Popeye, they seem very glad we’ve dropped by.
It is rare to see a photo this old where the subjects look happy and are soft in appearance. I like this one quite a bit.
Agreed. I sometimes wonder if it’s deceptive, seeming older than it really is, if it’s just a weathered photo of people who dress in an old style. But that’s the kind of second-guessing I do with a lot of my photos. In any case, it’s certainly not recent. Glad you like it.
🙂
She is worthy of Popeye. She is no Olive Oil! (or Olive Oyl) Great picture.
LOL, indeed. Thanks.
these guys are hilarious – lol! 🙂 🙂
🙂
I love, love, love the distance between the two women. So many stories to invent about that gap.
I agree, though to my mind it doesn’t appear to be an uncomfortable distance. Still, who knows? One of the reasons I love pictures with two or more people is the subtle things revealed in their physical relationships to each other.
The women look like they’d like a good smoke as well! Very nice.
You’re right, they do! 🙂
Great that you managed to salvage the photo, it’s a wonderful image.
It would make a great album cover!
Ha! It would.
