Comments:
I was just going to write a simple “Happy Mother’s Day!” and let it go at that. But I got to thinking about how Mother’s Day might very well be one of those American inventions. And how my Spanish-speaking co-workers were talking about observing Mother’s Day on Thursday. And how my gratitude at having subscribers on at least four different continents should be reflected in not assuming they are going to know every little reference I make. So I looked it up. Here is a list of dates on which Mother’s day, or some variant on it, is celebrated around the world. And sure enough, it’s apparently an American cultural export, though celebrations of maternity have been around since ancient times. So whenever and however you celebrate it, assuming you do at all, Happy Mother’s Day!
A lovely picture, perfect for Mother’s Day. She seems to have a bridge for a pair of glasses yet there are no rims (they could be rimless) nor is there, as far as I can see, temples or earpieces. ????
You’re right, I’m not sure what’s going on there. It looks like she’s wearing glasses, but when you look closely, all you can really see is the bridge over her nose!
He kind of looks like you, Matt. Adorable.
Thanks. 🙂 (Though that doesn’t look like my mother.)
That was my first thought, too. You look so cute in that collar, Matt!
