Comments:
This is another one of the ones my friend Nathan gave me. Hoyt and Harrel. Brothers, I’m assuming? (With those names, it shouldn’t be too hard to figure out if I get motivated to search. I really ought to subscribe to one of those genealogical sites sometime.) And does this car belong to one or both of them? They appear to be proud of it, and understandably so. Even the guy walking along the sidewalk is checking it out. Life looks good at the moment for the Thomas boys.
Love the split windshield. “Gee, do I want speed and fewer bugs or leisurely pace and a breeze?”
Yes, it seems an odd feature to us today. Of course, it probably also went much slower than we’re used to.
I love this image. Probably because it reminds me of a photo I have of my great-grandfather standing next to what appears to be his brand new car (about the same era as this image). There is definitely the same sense of pride and joy in the faces of Hoyt and Harrel as was in my great-grandfather Alfred’s face. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
Thanks, I agree. Sometimes I love these old photos because they are so different from what I know, but other times I love them because they touch so close to home.
