Comments:
I’m not sure why I have so few photos from the Deep South. Is it just a coincidence, an outcome of my haphazard collecting? Or are there actually fewer around to collect? Probably the former. But it sometimes seems strange that I have more photos from Europe than from big chunks of my own country. Not that I’m complaining, just observing. Meanwhile, here’s this one. While it obviously has some damage, I think it still has its allure.
Easy to see why the “head turned slightly to the side and tilted slightly up” angle that so many portrait photographers employ is still in use today. Quite flattering and not *too* unnatural. Relatively.
Sometimes it’s best to just stick with what you know works. 🙂
