Rosy cheeks
Click here to view it larger.
What it is:
Photo measuring slightly less than 3.25 x 4.25 inches. (It came in an art deco frame which I removed to facilitate this scan.)
What I know about it:
Nothing! Undated and unidentified. (There is something embossed on the back of the frame, but it’s worn to illegibility. In any case, I suspect it’s information about the frame’s manufacturer, rather than the photographer.)
Comments:
We’re well into December, so I figured it was about time I posted something seasonal. I’m completely charmed by the tinting job here, the way the cheeks are so rosy they make it look like the child is actually out in the cold, and the way the snow on the mountains is tinted pink and green.
The background reminds me of the mural at Berkeley Iceland (now sadly closed).
I wouldn’t be surprised if this were taken at such a venue in a studio set up to take souvenir photos.
Absolutely adorable!
Glad you like it!
Matt, did you realise this is a photobooth photo? It is lovely!!! It has been blown up from the smaller original size and hand coloured, probably at the studio where the booth was.
Hi Katherine. I wondered about that. It looked like about the right physical dimensions, but I don’t recall seeing photo booths with backdrops, which is why I was unsure. Thanks for letting me know!
I have only seen the backdrops in US photobooth pics but they are rare.
Good to know, thanks.
