Girl with sausage curls and a headband
Click here to view it larger.
What it is:
Photo measuring 2 x 4 inches. Bits of glue and brown paper on the back suggest it had previously been mounted into a cardboard frame/holder.
What I know about it:
Nothing! Undated and unidentified.
Comments:
I try not to judge the fashions of yesterday too harshly. After all, much of what we’re wearing today will undoubtedly appear preposterous to people decades from now. But I have to admit this is a look I hope doesn’t cycle back. Actually, I wonder if this photo might have been taken right at the cusp of changing fashions, since I think of the sausage curls as belonging to an earlier era than the headband.
Agreed! I’m finding it difficult to decide if she is a teen or a young lady with youthful features.
You’re right, I’ve had the same doubts. I always assumed she was a teen until I looked at the enlarged scan, and then I wasn’t sure. I chose to treat her as a teen anyway, but still, I could be wrong.
In the morning I’d cook her some eggs to go with those curls.
I’m sure she’d appreciate it. 🙂
I LOVE her! And what an interesting shape to the image. You don’t usually see them quite so long. I’m surprised she doesn’t have a feather sticking out of the ribbon. 🙂
Ha! Yes, I know what you mean about the feather.
