Comments:
I’ve hesitated to post this one because it’s probably not especially old and the subject isn’t especially remarkable. Yet it always makes me stop to look twice, so maybe it will have the same effect on you. This man is hard to read. The camera angle and lighting make him seem stern and imposing, but he also looks relaxed, almost friendly. I get absorbed trying to figure out who he is, and what might have brought him, dressed like that, to this desolate place.
He certainly looks the part of a business man…perhaps an investor in either land or mineral rights?
I supposed I’ve seen too many Agatha Christie shows, but he reminds me of some wealthy patriarch who has been lured out there somehow and is about to be pushed off the cliff. 🙂
Such a vivid imagination! 🙂

Or he may simply be on a vacation at the coast. I tend to forget that people, even in the not too distant past, dressed up for what we would now consider “informal” occasions. I remember my parents wearing suits, dresses, hats and heels for airplane trips.
Yes, that’s true. There was a time when “the jet set” really meant something, and when people would put on a jacket and tie to go to the movies.
