Comments:
Monday, heading back to work. After such a nice weekend, I’m feeling about as thrilled as these people look. Oh, well, it’s not so bad. I used to say, “at least I’m not working in a sulfur mine” until a coworker told me he used to work in a mine and actually enjoyed it. It wasn’t a sulfur mine, though, it was a fluorite mine, in which they delicately mined beautiful crystals to sell to collectors. Okay, that doesn’t really have anything to do with this photo. But then, I don’t really know what sort of business this is a photo of. Still, I find it fascinating. Lots of interesting period details to look at.
Interested by the spats or striped boot tops on the seated man. At first glance, I thought he’d rolled his socks up over his trouser cuffs.
Yes, I was wondering about those, too.
