Boy in Schenectady, New York

Click here to view it larger.

What it is:

Photo (4 x 5.5 inches) mounted to a cardboard frame/backing (6 x 9 inches; I have cropped much of the backing from this scan).

What I know about it:

Photographer is Avlon of Schenectady, New York.  Otherwise undated and unidentified.

Comments:

Here’s another example of a child dressed in a sort of oversized tunic thing with a loose-fitting belt.  I’ve posted others here and here.  Both boys and girls were dressed that way.  Those loose belts on those children just look like they’re asking for trouble, especially on a boy like this with such a wonderfully mischievous expression.  Also, I think the table is of an interesting design.

  1. Yes great capture of expression 🙂

  2. He looks like such a little tough guy! Just adorable, and the outfit he’s in has a sort of…swashbuckley look, doesn’t it? 😉 It’s an excellent image. Thanks for sharing it!
