What it is:
Two photos, each measuring 2.75 x 3.75 inches.
What I know about it:
Written in pencil on the back of each is Thelma / Burke / Jinny.
Comments:
Just some more summery photos in honor of the beautiful weather we’re having. The song “Two Ladies” from the musical Cabaret pops into my head when I see these photos. Burke looks like a lucky guy.
The shorter of the gals, I suppose Jinny, looks like my sister Marie.
It often surprises me how many people I feel I “recognize” from these old photos.
Same here. Frequently I see people who look like long-dead relatives, though it’s clear from the surroundings or the time period that they’re not my relatives afterall.
On a side note, the dark skirt looks just like the kelly-green Junior Girl Scout uniform skirt I wore until the mid-90s – same length, very similar cut, and had that same stiffness to it that made it stick out with funny corners. .
On another side note, have you seen any other “vintage” photos that weren’t specifically of men in their swimwear or skivvies where the men’s shorts were as short as that?
On your second side note, that crossed my mind, too. I was wondering if he wasn’t wearing a shirt over swim trunks, because they seem unusually short.
