What it is:
Cabinet card measuring 4.25 x 6.5 inches.
What I know about it:
Photographer is Adolf Weiner of Vienna, Austria. Written on the back is Juli 895 (German for July, 1895).
Comments:
This man may have been the sweetest guy around, but to my eyes he looks slightly menacing. Actually, he doesn’t look so much like a truly evil man as he does like a stock bad guy in a stage melodrama. By the way, I don’t recall ever seeing the year written with just the last three numbers. I wonder if it was some convention as the Turn of the Century approached, or if it was just somebody’s sloppiness.
