Click here to view it larger.
What it is:
Photo (about 3.25 x 3.25 inches) mounted to a cardboard frame/backing (5 x 5 inches – I have cropped the frame from the scan).
What I know about it:
Nothing! Undated and unidentified.
Comments:
Is it me, or does it look like they are leaning in to make sure they are captured in the camera’s view. For some reason, that strikes me as a more modern pose, as if the careful set-up of vintage photography would have made such posing unnecessary, if that makes sense. It’s not a look I particularly remember seeing in photos from that era. But I could be wrong. Or, on the other hand, that could just be how these two sit, regardless of whether or not their picture is being taken. And who are they? He looks somewhat older than she does, though that’s probably a trick of the light. Husband and wife? Sister and brother? Some other relations? Neighbors out enjoying a sunny day in the back yard? It looks like a pleasant time, in any case.
I think she falls into the category “handsome woman”, and he’s not very attractive. But they seem drawn to each other, albeit shyly.
There’s a lid for every pot, as they say (assuming they’re a couple in the first place). 🙂
