What I know about it:
Photographer is Noyes of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. [I believe this is Adelbert H. Noyes, who apparently operated in Fort Atkinson from 1888 to 1896.]

My last two posts were inspired by a conversation I had with a costumer friend about how people, particularly men, wore pocket watches and other fob-like jewelry. Specifically, did men wear their jewelry attached to the vest, as in yesterday’s post, or attached to the jacket lapel, as here or here? The answer seems to be both, though we felt the vest option might be more common. In any case, it got me looking at jewelry. Hence the previous post showing a woman wearing a pocket watch. And now, for further variety, here are two girls. I assume these are lockets, not pocket watches, but they are both wearing bold jewelry. I also chose this one because it’s the same photographer as yesterday’s post, though I don’t know how, if at all, these girls are connected to yesterday’s men, beyond the coincidence of the same photographer, and the fact that the good folks of Fort Atkinson apparently like their bling. Incidentally, if you look carefully at the ringlet by the smaller girl’s right ear (to our left), you can see what appears to be a pin or something holding the ringlet in place.
