Melvin and Edna
Click here to view it larger.
What it is:
Photo (3.75 x 5.5 inches) mounted to a cardboard frame/matting (6 x 9 inches; I have cropped most of the matting from this scan).
What I know about it:
Photographer is Levi F. Smith of El Paso, Illinois. Written in pen on the front (!) of the matting is Edna & Melvin Mohr – Edna was a Kingdon.
Comments:
This is another of the photos my mother gave me. I think it’s a very nice photo, and it drives me crazy when people write their genealogical notes on the front instead of the back, which is why I cropped it (but maybe that’s just me). I had only heard of the El Paso in Texas, I didn’t know there was one in Illinois. Here is a bit of information about the photographer, including a photo, and here is a picture of his house.
What is Edna hiding in her right hand?
I don’t know. Perhaps Melvin should be worried?
It is so nice to have names to go with the faces. 🙂
Why am I not surprised that’s a priority for somebody who goes by the name “Genealogy Lady”? 😉
Yeah, well, what can I say? 😉
This is dumb, but I thought at first that it said, “Edna was a Klingon.”
Actually, the handwriting is a little sloppy, and that’s what I thought it said at first, too.
I’m with Genealogy Lady…GOLDMINE!
harriedcostumer…I’m dying over here…Klingons…ha, ha, ha!
🙂
