This is a photo of Rita, other photos of whom I’ve posted here, here and here. The boy is Arthur, whom I assume is her older brother. If the three candles mean this is her third birthday, then that dates the photo to February, 1943. I’m posting this because today happens to be my own younger sister’s birthday. Granted, she’s in her mid-forties now, not to mention living on another continent, but I felt it would still be nice to honor the occasion.
