What it is:

Real photo post card measuring 3.5 x 5.5 inches.

 

What I know about it:

Written on the front in pen is Good Luck Pal / Elmer.  The paper manufacturer’s markings (“EKC” in the stamp box) narrow the date range down to the 1940s.

 

Comments:

This is the sort of generic greeting you might write in, say, a yearbook.  But given the likelihood that this is a young sailor getting his picture taken during WWII, there may be an extra urgency to the way he’s wishing his pal good luck.
